Using the internet, the contemporary world's most effective communications channel, the lastprophet.info web portal was prepared for the purpose of introducing and explaining the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to the world we live in. Holding its gala on April 19, 2007 at the Istanbul Cemal Reþit Rey Concert Hall in which Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, State Minister Mehmet Aydin, State Minister Nimet Çubukçu and Director of Religious Affairs Prof. Ali Bardakoðlu participated, the web portal has seen great interest from the day it began its publication life. Within the first 24 hours 65 thousand people visited the site and visitors opened 3 million 500 thousand pages.

Setting out with the need for showing the importance of a prophet in the process of understanding a religion and for presenting to modern man the Prophet's various aspects as a human and an apostle, the portal also aims to brush aside mistaken perceptions formed by ugly attacks aimed at Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the West. The lastprophet.info web portal continues its efforts with this aim, not from a defensive approach, but taking him into consideration on an intellectual and scholastic foundation, within the framework necessary for understanding him.

The goal of lastprophet.info web portal is to be an up-to-date portal where news in various places of the world about every kind of activity regarding the Prophet can be found, in addition to being a data bank aimed at referring to scholastic works on Muhammad (pbuh). The portal contains a colorful and entertaining section that will enable children to know Prophet Muhammad at closer range. Within a "Train Trip" theme, the children's corner will allow youngsters the opportunity to travel to the world of the Prophet and know the Prophet's virtues up close.

Lastprophet.info has been prepared by the Meridyen Destek Dernegi (Meridian Support Association) which has prepared platforms to present our country's academic work to the benefit of the people and contribute to the development of the social sciences, the association's field of activity.

The contents of the site have been developed with the support of experienced theologians from institutions like the Divinity Faculty's departments of Hadith and Islamic History and ISAM (Islam Research Center). The site's graphic design was made by award-winning designer Emrah Yücel who is active in America.
