The 16th international conference of the Islamic Academy of Science will be held between 25 and 29th August, 2008 in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan. The subject of the conference will be "Science and Technology in the Stable Development of the Islamic world". The administrative committee, under the leadership of Abdel Madjal, will come to Kazan for the preparatory stages of the conference. More than 120 academic scholars from Islamic countries (Iran, Jordan, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Egypt) and other countries, like America, Japan and Belgium, will participate in the conference. Among the participants will be the Nobel Laureates Ferid Murat and Muhammad Yunus. The Islamic Academy of Science (IAS) was established in 1986 and was founded to bring academic scholars of the Islamic world under one roof in order to develop cooperation among them.(Source: Nezavisimaya Gazeta) |
