The Lifetime Service to Hadith and Seerah Award winner was the late Ibrahim Canan

The third Lifetime Service to Hadith and Seerah Award, which is held by the Meridyen Association's lasprophet.info project and aims to honor individuals who have devoted their lives to narrating the life of Prophet Muhammad, took place on Sunday April 11, 2010 this year. The ceremony which took place at the Cemal Resit Rey concert Hall, kiced off with attendance from the President of Turkish Religious Affairs Directorate Professor Ali Bardakoglu, the Turkish Ambassador to Vatican in addition to many distinguished guests.

This award, which was granted to Professor Yasar Kandemir and Professor Ismail Lutfi Cakan in the past years, was given to Professor Ibrahim Canan, whose work we are all familiar with. An overwhelming majority of lastprohet.info readers voted for Ibrahim Canan online, whom we lost in a traffic accident on October 14, 2009.

Paying their homage to the late professor, Lastprohet.info readers remembered Canan whose award was presented by the President of Turkish Religious Affairs Directorate Professor ‘Ali Bardakoglu and received by his wife Zarife Canan.
